Poker Chip Logo Contest

I’d like to announce a logo contest for Poker Chip Tricks. The current header graphic does the job, but could be much better. I have no creative talent with graphics so I’ve decided to hold a contest with a prize of
$100 to the winner.

Your entry must have each of the following to be considered:

  • A 780×105 header graphic (NOT animated) to be used on all pages of Poker Chip Tricks.
  • A square logo (NOT animated) to be used for various logo situations.
  • A smaller size logo (the square logo could be used for this) that can be used as a link image when other sites link to Poker Chip Tricks.
  • Use a graphic format (preferably PSD files) which allows the image to be resized without losing quality.

Various rules:

  • Up to 3 entries per person, as long as each logo set is considerably different.
  • All entries must be submitted by July 16, 2005 at 12:00 pm ET.
  • Email entries to pokerchiptricks AT gmail DOT com with a subject of Logo Contest.
  • All content must be original.

The site could use a change of colors, so feel free to use whatever color combinations you want.

Once the deadline (July 16th, 2005 at 12:00 pm ET) has passed, I’ll pick the top 5 entries and run a voting poll to find the winner. I’m excited to see what people come up. Remember to be creative and have fun with it. Good luck!

Update: The contest has ended and there is a winner.

That’s open to your creativeness, but I’d like to see a logo with something more than a plain old font.

is the type of font important or is it the image that’s primarily the concern of this contest?

Yes, that’s fine. It won’t be any huge resizing that I could think of, but probably the bigger the better for the square logo. If I can get a Photoshop (PSD) files that would probably be best for me.

Just for your future reference, vector graphics are fully scalable, unlike most graphic formats. I’m not looking for something nearly that advanced though. Just thought I’d throw that info your way since it seems your art instructors haven’t talked about it.

One issue: I’ve taken a couple of computer art classes and I don’t know of any type of graphic can be resized unlimitedly. Would it be fine if it was just high enough resoulution that it would probobly never be an issue?

Maybe the smaller size image to use for link images could be animated, but the header graphic and square logo definitely should not be.

Hi, This question is concerning the logo contest. I was wondering if you would like any images animated?
