The Card Tricks site which was being “housed” in a folder here at Poker Chip Tricks has moved to its own domain at docardtricks.com. So if you are ready to try tricks that don’t have to do with poker chips, read all about the card tricks over at the new site.
Can you do something cool with poker chips? What poker chip tricks that are not in the site’s current list of tricks would you like to see added? Pick anything you’ve seen on TV or heard about and leave a comment with your thoughts/ideas. I need a new trick to tackle and with enough feedback, […]
Another site was just launched off of Poker Chip Tricks which should be of interest for many of the visitors who come here. The site is called Card Tricks and features tutorials, videos, and photos of how to do different tricks with a deck of cards. The site features the same level of quality which […]
As promised, 5 new tricks were posted during the week. I’d like to thank Anders Lundkvist for sending in the videos for all of the poker chip tricks.
Can you perform a trick not found on this site? Send it in and you could be featured like the many other contributors.
Here’s a list of the tricks […]
I just found a great new online service which will make it easier for anyone to send me videos of poker chip tricks. It’ll also make it easier for me to receive the files. Everything gets stored at a site online so email size restrictions no longer are an issue. Have a new trick with […]
Starting on Monday of this week there will be one new trick added to the site for 5 consecutive days. Anders Lundkvist was kind enough to send in a bunch of new tricks. There are a few new things I’ve never seen before, so I think you’ll enjoy them. I’ll post a trick each day […]
The best item from the Poker Chip Tricks store is the Shuffle Mousepad in my opinion. In fact, I just received my order in the mail on Monday and I can say the quality of the product is very good.
The mousepad is made of a thick padding with a cloth top. It’s the perfect surface […]
It turned out the phrase “got chips?” is trademarked and wasn’t as an original idea as I had throught. So I had to remove all of the products from the store. I was telling my Mom about it and she had a great idea. Use “got tricks?” instead. I think it goes with the site […]
Another one of the chip tricks has been featured in the latest issue of Poker Magasinet. In the October/November 2005 issue, the Thumb Flip is the featured poker chip trick. The popular Danish poker magazine has now seen it’s 3rd issue with 15,000 copies distributed around Denmark.
In the latest podcast episode (46) of Card Club on Lord Admiral Radio they made mention of an email I sent about Poker Chip Tricks. Thanks for the pimpage guys!
If you have an iPod or just want to listen to some great poker content on your computer, check out the Card Club podcast. Each Sunday […]
One year ago today, Poker Chip Tricks was launched. The site has come a long way since then. Intially the site launched with 11 tricks. Since that first day, 2 tricks performed by myself have been added as well as 11 tricks submitted by you, the visitors to the site. I also have two new submitted […]
I’m happy to announce the opening of the Poker Chip Tricks Store. Currently there are 2 main designs in the store with many products to choose from in each design.
I hope to come out with more designs in the future, but wanted to get the ball rolling. If you have any suggestions for new designs […]
Thanks to Steven Sowinski there are 3 new submitted poker chip tricks. The tricks are Abduction, Lookout, and Pick.
The twirl has been featured in the August/September 2005 issue of Poker Magasinet, a new Danish poker magazine. It is an honor and very exciting for PCT to be featured in the magazine’s 2nd issue. I look forward to more tricks being displayed in future issues of what looks to be a promising poker resource. […]
I’ve just activated PCT Version 2, the new layout for the site. If you still see the old layout, hit the F5 key or clear your browser’s cache. I hope you’ll agree with me that Version 2 is a lot cleaner and easier on the eyes. If you notice anything on the site acting funny, […]
Due to the lack of activity in the forums since launching them over 6 months ago, I’ve decided to remove them from the site. The only real content there was the tutorials for the submitted poker chip tricks. I’ve taken all of these tutorials and created a new page for each of the submitted tricks. […]
I want to thank everyone who sent in entries for the Logo Contest. I only received entries from about 10 people, which was disappointing, but they were all better than anything I could design. I realize that the $100 prize wasn’t very big, so in the future I’ll definitely come up with something better. In […]
Poker Chip Tricks is in the process of moving to a new server. Over the next several days things might be a little out of whack around here. Please bear with me.
It appears as if everything is done. Let me know if you notice anything out of place or not working properly.
I’ve compressed all of the videos on the site. This should help them load faster. The compressed videos will also save bandwidth, allowing me to move to a cheaper web hosting solution with DreamHost. Let me know if you notice anything weird with the videos.
Thanks everyone who sent in entries for the Logo Contest. I have picked a winner and will be putting out a formal announcement when I get some time. I want to show several of the entries, so it might be a few days before I can put everything together.
Since the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been in full swing for weeks now, I thought I’d post a few good links:
2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Live Updates
2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Tournament Results
2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Photos
2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Quick Stats
Videos for the Swirl and Finger Roll have been posted on the submitted videos page.
I’d like to announce a logo contest for Poker Chip Tricks. The current header graphic does the job, but could be much better. I have no creative talent with graphics so I’ve decided to hold a contest with a prize of
$100 to the winner.
Your entry must have each of the following to be considered:
A 780×105 […]
Over the last couple of months I’ve had quite a few requests for the Johnny Chan trick we’ve all seen in the movie Rounders. I was finally able to work on it and have posted a video, photos, and tutorial.
Go check out the Johnny Chan Poker Chip Trick.
Two new videos have been added to the Submitted Poker Chip Tricks page. The tricks, named the Danish Twirl and the Twirl Hop, are variations/combos with the twirl. Definately worth checking out! I have two other videos waiting for names, so I hope to post them later this week along with tutorials. I should also […]
As you may have noticed, I’ve updated from a 2 column layout to 3 columns. I’ve always found it easier to read a smaller content column and the previous right column seemed cluttered to me. If you aren’t seeing the new design try refreshing the page and clearing your browser’s cache. If you see anything […]
Earlier today I mentioned that a large addition to the site would be coming soon. I seriously didn’t think it would be this soon, or I would have waited and made one announcement.
I’m excited to announce the addition of discussion forums to the Poker Chip Tricks site. I hope they will make the site more […]
I’ve been busy updating and adding things over the past few days. I’m guessing that quite a few people received a set of poker chips for Christmas because the site’s traffic has experienced new highs and remained steady since. With all of the new visitors I thought it would be a great time to break […]
If anyone is interested in using an image to link to the Poker Chip Tricks site, David came up with a quick little button for me. Feel free to use it in anytime you link to the site. I’ve created several sizes of the image for your use. Download by right-clicking the link and choosing […]
As promised, I have a new trick posted and ready to go. I call it the Switch.
Hopefully comment spam is a thing of the past. I want to apologize to anyone who has attempted to comment recently and has been redirected to the FBI’s site. I think my comment spam checking system was going a little haywire from all of the spammers and it was flagging some of you that were […]
I want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays this year. Enjoy the time with your family and friends, remember to play a lot of poker, and practice your chip tricks when you get that new set of chips for Christmas.
I want to let everyone know that I’ll finally be adding a new trick over the […]
Ever since I came up with the idea for this site it was always my goal to keep everything simple and have everything easily accessible. That has not changed and I have no plans to change that goal. There are bills for running a site though, especially with the amount of bandwidth used by all […]
A few months ago I purchased pokerchiptricks.com because I wanted to have an entire site dedicated to poker chip tricks. The single page I had been hosting at my personal site was helping a lot of people out, but I knew I could do much more. So I’ve learned quite a few new tricks, […]
